The haunting strains of the Claire de Lune guide this beautiful story of a pianist who has wandered away from her instrument, and of a blind painter who helps her find it again. Jane Petrov, Agnes Cummings, Tessa Barrett, and Adam Sullivan star in the world premiere of Rapunzel's Song by Mary Ethel Schmidt, January 25 through February 5 at The Northeast Theatre, on the corner of Wyoming at 326 Spruce in downtown Scranton. The Northeast Theatre presents Rapunzel's Song by Mary Ethel Schmidt

Who

• Mary Ethel Schmidt, known to TNT audiences as an actress and director, now makes her local debut as a playwright with the world premiere of her play, Rapunzel's Song.

• Nationally renowned director and playwright, Nagle Jackson, directs a cast which includes New York actors Jane Petrov and Adam Sullivan, and area actors Agnes Cummings, Tessa Barrett, Karen Gilat, and Julie Larnard-Newbury.

• The set is designed by Jonathan Strayer, lights by James Langan, costumes by Rachael Miller, and sound by Nagle Jackson.

When and Where

• Previews: January 25 and 26, 2006

• Opening: January 27, 8 p.m. Reception follows.

• Closing: February 3

• Previews: (on January 25 and 26) 7 p.m.

• After opening: Thursday at 7 p.m., Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m., Sunday at 3 p.m.
