| |
SCRANTON, PA - Lackawanna County Commissioners A.J. Munchak and Robert C. Cordaro recently presented the five children of a local charity group with Certificates of Recognition for their outstanding achievements in fundraising.
The group of remarkable young individuals called ATAEA, an acronym formed from the first initial in each of their names, have raised several hundred dollars for local and national charities by selling lemonade, cookies and handmade knick-knack boxes.
Some of the many charities that ATAEA has donated to include the Red Cross, the Humane Society, St. Jude’s, and Ronald McDonald House. They have also made donations to victims of Hurricane Katrina.
ATAEA meets regularly to discuss and explore new charitable acts. They hope to raise money for autistic children around the St. Patrick’s Day holiday.
