The Northeast Theatre’s Spruce Street Cabaret presents The Truth About Love (and some of the usual lies) with New York singer Jessica Medoff and pianist Steven McGhee performing songs about romance
and related subjects; a perfect Valentine. Saturday, February 17, at 4 p.m., Performance Space at the Jermyn, 326 Spruce Street, Second Floor, Downtown Scranton. Details and tickets: 570-558-1515 or www.thenortheasttheatre.us - General Admission: $15, Students (-25) $5.
The Truth About Love (and some of the usual lies) is a musical journey through the ups and downs of love that features -- among many -- songs from Avenue Q and from Kurt Weill's Street Scene, songs
by William Bolcom, classics from the American popular repertoire, and some of opera's best loved arias.
Jessica Medoff is trained as an opera singer (soprano), was a member of the Aspen Opera Company for six seasons, and joined the Lake George Opera Company in 2005 where she has sung the role of Micaela in
Carmen. She is also skilled as a musical comedy performer, and shows that versatility, and more, in her New York show, The Truth About Love (and some of the usual lies).
