Lodging and hospitality establishments that partner with artists and artisans along the PA Route 6 corridor with receive a one-line listing in the brochure. The listing fee is $50. The Pennsylvania Route 6 Artisan Trail is a premiere driving destination exploring arts, crafts, heritage, and folk-life in Pennsylvania. Route 6 runs over 400 miles across the northern tier of Pennsylvania from New York State to Ohio. In Northeastern Pennsylvania, the PA Route 6 Artisan Trail will be managed by the Lackawanna Heritage Valley Authority (LHVA) under the direction of Colleen Carter, Director of Public Education. LHVA will develop tour and lodging packages that feature artists, artisans, and cultural experiences in the “hub” communities of Tunkhannock, Factoryville, Clarks Summit, Scranton, Carbondale, Honesdale, Hawley, and Milford.
“Art lovers, history buffs, and collectors will find Northeastern Pennsylvania a treasure trove of fascinating, diverse, and delightful attractions,” said Carter. “From quilt shows in the Endless Mountains, to First Fridays Gallery Tours in Scranton, to world-class music festivals in the Pocono Mountains, this area is alive with the arts. For fifteen years, LHVA has promoted the region’s historic, cultural, economic, and natural resources. The Route 6 Artisan Trail project is a natural extension of that work.”
