Old Forge, PA - The Lackawanna County Commissioners recently honored Agostini’s Bakery in Old Forge for their 100th year in business and proclaimed March 5, 2007 as Agostini’s Bakery Day in Lackawanna County.
In 1907, Agostini’s opened its doors. They started in the dough business, inventing the pizza shell, after the World War II when the soldiers returned home after fighting and serving in Italy. The bakery is famous for its “pizza kits”, both red and white which contain the prepared shells, homemade sauce, and fresh mozzarella cheese. They also produce more than 13 varieties of breads and rolls.
