This winter the Penn State Extension Green Industry Team will be offering a series of five sessions called the Green Industry Winter Updates. Private and commercial licensed pesticide applicators can attend these two hour long, afternoon sessions and receive 2 core and 2 category recertification credits. The update trainings will be delivered live over the internet from 1pm to 3pm at the Luzerne County Westside Annex, 2009 Wyoming Avenue, Forty Fort, Pennsylvania. Each of the sessions will feature two speakers from the Penn State Extension Green Industry Team.
The first session begins on Tuesday, January 15th and will feature the following topics:
Factors Which Can Impact Pesticide Efficacy (awarding 2 core credits)
Overview of Turfgrass Pests from 2012 (awarding 2 credits in category 07, 18, 23 & private)
This first session will be followed by update trainings on January 24th -Diagnosis and Management of Conifer Diseases; February 7th – Biological Controls for Greenhouse Insects; February 18th – Weed Identification; and March 1st – 2013 Season Predictions for Insect and Disease Management.
