Courthouse Square Concert Schedule

The lazy, hazy days of Summer are not only enjoyable when you are outdoors, but they are even better when the sounds of music fill the air.

This is the exact combination that the Lackawanna County Department of Arts & Culture has created for area residents with its weekly Friday noontime concerts and July Saturday night musical series.

Every Friday from noon to 1 PM on the stage on Linden Street, a variety of artists perform a wide range of musical selections for shoppers, downtown workers and visitors to the area.

The dates and the performers booked are as follows:  July 5, Jigsaw Johnny; July 12, John Quinn Trio; July 19, Gerard Mayer Revue; July 26, Dani-elle Kleha; August 2, Von Storch; August 9, Jenkins & Woodyatt; August 16, To Be Announced; and August 23, The Fortunes.

The Saturday evening concert series, also conducted on the Linden Street side of the Courthouse, kicks-off on July 6 with Hippie Nation, a ten piece band focused on sixties era music from    5 PM – 7PM.  July 13 is polka night, featuring Joe Stanky and the Cadets from 6 PM – 8 PM. The iconic group, The Poets, will rock the crowd on July 20 from 6 PM – 8 PM.

The July 27 musical event features the sounds of The Gypsy Jazz Quintet.  This concert, set for    6 PM – 8 PM, is the closing act for The County’s Arts on the Square Festival. This all-day arts event runs from noon – 8 PM with 100 vendors, arts activities, performances, music and food.  For further information on Arts on the Square go to www.artsonthesquare.net.  For data on the programs offered by the County’s Arts & Culture Department, visit arts-culture@lackawannavounty.org.
