The Lackawanna County Commissioners have partnered with the University of Scranton and local businesses to provide a pilot program enabling area students to apply for Small Business Internships. Internship applications are now being accepted for an immediate opportunity and placement with Condron & Company and Carl von Luger Steak & Seafood, downtown Scranton for Social Media & Marketing. Students can also apply for a general internship with the Fanciful Fox in downtown Scranton.

The Lackawanna County Commissioners presented a “Good Works” certificate to members of the St. Joseph’s Center Auxiliary in recognition of the organization’s outstanding care for the needs of children with various challenges, unwed mothers and youngsters who need specialized therapy. The Auxiliary is celebrating 125 years of service with a variety of special events and activities scheduled throughout the year, most notably the annual Summer Festival which is scheduled for July 26 – 28 on the campus of Marywood University.
