2013 Arts and Culture Grant Awards

Homes for Heroes

Lackawanna County Commissioners Jim Wansacz and Patrick O’Malley attended the Key Presentation Ceremony for SSG Earl Granville in Scott Township on Saturday. Homes for Our Troops teamed up the Lackawanna Home Builders Association and the Build Brigade, made up of local volunteers, for construction of the project.

2012 Red Ribbon Team

The Lackawanna County Commissioners gathered with students from the Riverside and Lakeland School Districts and the University of Scranton during Red Ribbon Day. The youngsters decorated the interior offices of the Courthouse and annex building (October 19), marking the community’s commitment to reducing the demand for drugs and promoting a healthy lifestyle free of drugs and alcohol.

The Lackawanna County Commissioners welcomed over 6,500 runners and walkers supporting the Race for the Cure.

Wake Up With The Arts Breakfast & Dance Class Set

These dancers from the Starr Foster Dance Project will be the featured guests at the “Wake Up With The Arts” breakfast on October 19 in Shopland Hall at the Scranton Cultural Center. The dance project is a gifted and powerful group of performers, teachers and choreographers. The project, created in 2001, inspires, educates, and enlightens the general public through performances, instructional workshops and lectures about dance.
