Ballots Mailed, Drop Boxes Delivered

More than 14,000 ballots are on their way to Lackawanna County voters through the mail and drop boxes to collect them soon will be available at six secure locations throughout the county.

Beth Hopkins, director of the county Department of Elections and Voter Registration, said that 14,281 ballots – including absentee ballots and requested mail-in ballots – were mailed today (Thursday, April 4) and should arrive in voters mailboxes over the next several days. Of the total ballots, 11,713 were requested by registered Democrats and 2,568 were requested by registered Republicans.

Also Thursday, the department delivered drop boxes to the following secure locations:

  • Fall brook Senior Community Center, 185 Fallbrook St., Carbondale. It will be available Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m.
  • Clarks Summit Borough Building, 304 S. State St., Clarks Summit, Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m.
  • Dickson City Borough Building, 901 Enterprise St., Dickson City, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 4 p.m.
  • Moosic Borough Building, 715 Main St., Moosic, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
  • Roaring Brook Twp. Municipal Building, 430 Blue Shutters Road, Roaring Brook Twp., Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Lackawanna County Government Center, 123 Wyoming Ave., Scranton, Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m.

The Lackawanna County Government Center drop box will be available to receive
ballots until 8 p.m. on Election Day, April 23, when the polls close. The others will be available until noon on Friday, April 19.
