Mother’s Day Plant Sale

The Lackawanna County Arts & Culture Department will sponsor a Mother’s Day Pot and Plant Sale on Saturday, May 11, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at ArtWorks Gallery & Studio, 236 Penn Ave. Scranton. Plant sale proceeds benefit Maternal and Family Health Services, which provides essential health and nutrition services that improve the lives of women, children, and families in 17 counties of Northeast Pennsylvania.

The project is a partnership with Artworks Gallery and Studio, a fully licensed day program for individuals with intellectual disabilities and autism, who worked with their artists in the program to create original and unique pots in a variety of sizes. Prices start at $10.

In addition to the sale, there will be a free make-your-own Mother’s Day card activity, music by Brenda Fernandes, and a Penn State Cooperative Extension Master Gardner’s information table.
