HOW TO RECYCLE PLASTIC CONTAINERS

NOT ALL PLASTICS CAN BE RECYCLED

Technology is not in place yet for:

  Toys, pool liners, or hoses

CANS

Some examples:

  Aluminum cans (beverages, pet food,...)

Steel (tin) cans (soup, vegetables, juice,..)

Cans should be empty and clean.  NO  cookware, clothes hangers or other metal objects please.

Did You Know?   aluminum recycling uses 95% less energy than manufacturing aluminum from its natural resource – bauxite ore.

GLASS

Bottles and jars that contained food and/or beverages.

Some examples:

Lemon juice, ice tea, salad dressing...

  Salsa, sauce, condiments...

Lids from glass bottles and jars must be thrown away. They are a different material. NO eyeglasses, window panes, light bulbs, drinking glasses . . .

Did You Know?  Every ton of glass recycled saves about nine gallons of fuel oil.

Glass can be recycled forever, never needing to use more of its natural resource – sand.
