| The Controller is an elected official who oversees many aspects of the County's finances. |

| The Controller's Office processes all invoices for payments; all County bills come through this office. The office is also responsible for auditing various entities that collect money, such as row offices. The Controller's Office is also responsible for handling the Lackawanna County retirement process for employees and receiving bids on behalf of the County. Ken McDowell is the current Lackawanna County Controller.
