| As an advisory board to the Commissioners the purpose of the Lackawanna County Commission for Women is to assess the extent to which the needs of women and children are addressed, and advocate for the rights of women in all areas and in all types of situations affecting women in Lackawanna County. Commission projects include Women's History Month, Book Mark Competition, Legislative Luncheons, and Heath Seminars to name just a few of the Commissions projects. Commission consists of approximately 25-30 members which are appointed by the Commissioners.
