Fun For The Family At 4-H Family Weekend Camp

If you are looking for a fun family time, then you are invited to attend 4-H Family Camp on July 11-13 at Camp Shehaqua in Hickory Run State Park, White Haven.

Enjoy all the activities of sleep away camp on a weekend!  Family camp is for children ages 8-15 and a parent or designated adult.  Adults and children will enjoy the ropes course, archery, hiking, outdoor cooking and more!

4-H Family Camp is open to all families in Carbon, Lackawanna, Luzerne, Monroe, Pike and Wayne Counties.  Children do not need to be members of 4-H to attend.  An adult may bring up to three children for the weekend camp.

Camp Shehaqua provides a beautiful, natural setting for family fun and togetherness.  All campers sleep on beds in rustic cabins without electricity.  Bathroom and shower facilities are communal.  Meals and snacks are included in the $80 per person registration fee.

“For children not quite ready to go away to camp or families looking for a way to reconnect with each other, this weekend will provide a condensed camp experience – all the fun but not the time commitment,” said Debra Brodhecker, Pike County 4-H Educator.

4-H is a youth organization that enables kids to have fun, meet new people, build self-confidence and learn by doing things.  Adult leaders are screened and trained to work with youth.
