The “Good Works” Of The Jude Zayac Foundation

Greg Zayac, center, established The Jude Zayac Foundation with his wife, family and friends to support Sudden Infant Death Syndrome (SIDS) research and to enrich the lives of youngsters living in our community. The Zayacs son, Jude, passed away from SIDS in July 2014 and to honor his memory they are hosting the inaugural “Jog For Jude” on Sunday, April 19, at 9 AM at the Dunmore Community Center. The event will feature free food and beverages, basket raffles, face painting, entertainment, youth activities and a memorial balloon release. A portion of the proceeds are going to the Boston Children’s Hospital and the construction of a splash pad at Sherwood Park, Dunmore. SIDS is the number one cause of death in children under one year of age in the United States, claiming over 4,000 lives annually.

L-r, Commissioner Edward G. Staback, Commissioner Jim Wansacz, Mr. Zayac, Jude’s father; Mariclare and Kevin Hayes, Jude’s aunt and uncle; and Commissioner Patrick M. O’Malley.
