Commissioners Underwrite Dunmore War Memorial Project

A $14,000 Community Re-Invest check was presented to “Friends of the Forgotten” by the Lackawanna County Commissioners for the group’s renovation project at the Dunmore tank, South Blakely and Cherry Streets. The “Friends” will erect a Korean War Memorial, install eight new flag poles and a pedestrian-friendly surface and landscape the site. One of the goals of the Community Re-Invest Program is to rehabilitate and upgrade outdoor recreational facilities.
