Lackawanna County 4-H Members Participate in State 4-H Horse Show

Eleven Lackawanna County 4-H members participated in the 56th annual Pennsylvania State 4-H Horse Show where more than 700 youth from 60 counties competed in 73 performance classes throughout the recent event.

The state show is the final competition of the year for the 4-H youth development program’s horse members enrolled in performance horse projects. To be eligible for the show, members must advance through qualifying competitions at county and district levels.

Receiving state honors at the horse show were: Corinne Jacoby, Clarks Summit, first place in Classic Hunter Under Saddle Horses, Junior Rider; Kathryn Mattern, Moscow, first place in Open Trail Horses, Junior Rider, third place in Western Horsemanship, Intermediate Division, and seventh place in Western Grooming & Showmanship, Intermediate; Zoe Buckingham, Honesdale, second place in Western Pleasure Horses, Senior Rider, and eight place in Open Trail Horses, Senior Rider; Molly Landsiedel, Dalton, third Place in English Grooming & Showmanship, Junior; Rylie Heusner, Scranton, fifth place in Beginner English Equitation; Shayla VanVleck, Clifford Township, seventh place in Western Horsemanship, Intermediate Division; Taylor Tylutke, Madison Township, fourth place in Low Equitation Over Fences, Junior Rider and eight place in Low Working Hunter Horses; Cameron Coyer, Dunmore, eight place in Western Horsemanship, Senior Division; and Kendra Sabuacak, Nicholson, ninth place in Hunt Seat Equitation on the Flat, Senior Division.

Also participating in the state horse show were Madison Havirlak, Scranton; and Skylar Tylutke, Madison Township.
