Downtown Planter Project

The Penn State Master Gardeners in Lackawanna County are partnering again with Scranton Tomorrow for the downtown planter project on Sunday, September 18, from Noon – 3 PM, rain or shine.  This is the fourth consecutive year the groups will be planting fall mums around the downtown area.

Over 500 mums will be planted, giving the area a fresh look for the season. Plenty of volunteers are needed to give Scranton’s sidewalk planters a burst of autumn color.

Crews will clean-out the planters and then put in the mums. Hand tools, gloves, safety vests, and trash bags will be provided.

Everyone is asked to assemble on Courthouse Square, the corner of Linden and North Washington, by noon.
