Commissioners Honor Pearl Harbor Veteran

Walter Pasiak, 94, inside left, of South Scranton is the last surviving Pearl Harbor veteran. He was honored by the Lackawanna County Commissioners with a proclamation for his bravery, valor and service to the United States. As a 19 year-old Army Private, he witnessed the devastation that occurred in Hawaii. A decorated veteran, Walter served in the Korean War and was a military advisor in Vietnam, which was the final chapter in his 22 year career.
