Terry’s Diner Small Business Spotlight

Terry’s Diner, a staple in Moosic’s landscape and hospitality sector, was the small business spotlighted at the March 8 Lackawanna County Commissioners Meeting. The iconic landmark represents the last dining car manufactured in Elizabeth, NJ. This family-owned operation was expanded several times to accommodate its large following. A dining area and motel were originally added. A 1999 fire leveled the restaurant and created an opportunity for Terry, Jr., and Linda Holmes to purchase the Skyliner Diner, Dupont, and “move” it up the road to the Moosic site. Renovation work and an addition were done, the menu was expanded and the establishment reopened in April 2000.
