“Good Works” Bring Wishes For Willie

Jason “Willie” Williams, an 18-year veteran of the Lackawanna County Sheriff’s Department, was diagnosed this February with colon cancer. He underwent surgery and subsequent treatments to combat the problem. His fellow deputies rallied to his aid by organizing the May 7 “Wishes For Willie” fundraiser at Morganz Pub & Eatery, Green Ridge Street, Scranton, from 3 PM – 6 PM. All proceeds from the event, various raffles, shirt sales and GoFundMe campaign will be used to support Mr. Williams and his family with their expenses. The Lackawanna County Commissioners marked the event with a “Good Works” certificate.
