GreenSylvania Recycling Winners

The Lackawanna County Commissioners and staff recognized first and second place winners in the 2017 10th annual Greensylvania paper recycling competition conducted in May at area schools. John Whitter Elementary School, Scranton, first place, recycled 8,195 lbs. of paper. South Scranton Intermediate School finished first with 5,821 lbs. of paper recycled. Holy Cross High School, Dunmore, finished first in the high school division with 2,943 lbs. of recycled paper. Carbondale High School was second with 4,651 lbs. recycled, but at a lower per capita rate.
