Commissioners Salute Blakely Borough Anniversary

The Lackawanna County Commissioners presented Blakely officials with a proclamation in recognition of the Borough’s 150th anniversary. The town is named after Navy officer Captain Johnston Blakely. Settlers from 1795 on were responsible for the development of the area. Today, it is a thriving business hub with a mix of hospitality, manufacturing and grocery/variety establishments to mention a cross section.
