Lackawanna County Arts & Culture Community Outreach Meeting

The Lackawanna County Arts, Culture and Education (ACE) Advisory Council will host a series of free community outreach meetings at various locations around Lackawanna County to inform the communities about Lackawanna County’s Arts and Culture Department programs.  Data on grants, enrichment workshops and special events that municipalities and residents can take advantage of will be provided.  The program will also offer a platform for the public and officials to discuss what types of arts and culture programming they would like to develop in their communities.

The inaugural session, which is open to the general public, will focus on the Mid and Upper Valleys and be held on Thursday, April 26, at 7 p.m. at Six East Diner, 1611 Scranton Carbondale Highway.  Light refreshments will be served.

The Lackawanna County Arts and Culture Department was formed in 2004 and is supported through an education and culture fee that generates approximately $1.3 million for the purpose of organizing programs and activities designed to enrich the County’s quality of life.  The office offers community grants, public arts programming, workshops and lectures and oversees the operation of the Electric City Trolley Station and Museum.

The ACE Council consists of community leaders who are interested in the arts and culture fields.  The Council also advises and assists the Department with general policy, operations and program development.
