Hibernian Societies Recognized

Lackawanna County Commissioner Patrick M. O’Malley, left, presented proclamations to the members of various area women’s and men’s Ancient Order of Hibernians groups at the March 3 Irish flag raising, marking the kickoff of the local St. Patrick’s Day festivities and celebration. The proclamation designated March as Irish Cultural & Heritage Month and highlighted the contributions Irish immigrants have made to our country, county, quality of life, and the Catholic faith.
