Make-A-Wish’s Good Works Recognized

Maggie O’Brien, center, regional manager for “Make-A-Wish,” accepts a “Good Works” certificate from the Lackawanna County Commissioners for the organization’s efforts in bringing hope, strength and joy to families whose children are experiencing life-threatening medical conditions. Since its establishment in the region in 1988, the organization has granted over 200 wishes for youth two-and-a-half to 18 years of age. The main wish request is a trip to Disney, followed by gifts, travel or celebrity meetings.
