Directional signage will also be posted by the County.

Joint Statement Regarding Issues Related To COLTS

Earlier this afternoon, we met with the Secretary of Transportation regarding issues related to COLTS.   We had a positive discussion and are pleased to announce that Saturday service will continue until a permanent and satisfactory solution is crafted.  This outcome is a direct result of the coordinated efforts of County and State Officials.

Dialogue will continue between the Department and COLTS.  This dialogue will include a comprehensive review of all operating expenses while at the same time trying to finalize the terms of the repayment obligation that COLTS must bear while minimizing adverse impact on County residents.

We are grateful for the Secretary’s participation in the discussion and pleased that he has agreed to continue the dialogue leading to a final resolution.

County Officials Promote “Dump The Pump” Day

The Lackawanna County Commissioners and officials from the County of Lackawanna Transit System (COLTS) promote “Dump The Pump” Day, scheduled for June 19. Free rides on all COLTS routes will be available all day long in an effort to promote the use of public transit. This sixth annual event also highlights the importance of saving the environment by using mass transit.
