The Lackawanna County Conservation District would like to invite you to a Rain Garden Workshop on May 9 th, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at the district office 1300 Old Plank Rd., Mayfield.

 A Ground Water-Citizen/ Home Owner Monitoring Workshop for private well owners is scheduled for March 20th at 6:00 p.m. and the Surface Water Workshop is scheduled for April 24 th at 6:00 p.m. at the Lackawanna County Conservation District office located at 1300 Old Plank Rd., Mayfield, PA

This program will cover the various mechanisms by which a private well could be impacted by natural or induced activities and how we and our activities may impact groundwater.  We will discuss monitoring and testing options including self monitoring, certified water testing and some basic information on water treatment.

You must attend both workshops to get your free drinking water screening.

Stormwater Management and Rain Barrel Workshop

The Lackawanna County Conservation District is pleased to announce our Stormwater Management in Your Backyard and Rain Barrel Workshop August 23rd at 6:00 p.m. at the Lackawanna County Conservation District, 1300 Old Plank Road, Mayfield, PA. There is a limited supply of rain barrels so registration is on a first-come-first-serve basis. You must attend the workshop to receive a rain barrel. Limit one barrel per household. See you there!
