Prison Staff Retirees Honored

Lackawanna County Prison Warden Tim Betti, inside right, recently honored three individuals with ceremonial plaques in recognition of their retirement from and service to the prison.  Combined, the individuals worked over 90 years at the facility.

County Prison Staff Supports Angel Tree Program

The staff of the Lackawanna County Prison made Christmas a little brighter for children at the South Scranton 3 Head Start Program. Employees at the prison along with visitors participated in the Angel Tree program by purchasing a variety of toys and other gifts for the youngsters.

Timothy Walsh Promoted To Lieutenant At The Prison

Lackawanna County Commissioner Patrick M. O’Malley, right, pins Lieutenant badge on Sergeant Timothy Walsh with prison staff members participating in the ceremony. Mr. Walsh of Greenfield Township was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant this September. He started his career with the Lackawanna County Prison in February 2003.

Jason Ortona Promoted To Sergeant At The Prison

Lackawanna County Commissioner Patrick M. O’Malley, right, pins Sergeant badge on County Corrections Officer Jason Ortona with prison staff members participating in the ceremony. Mr. Ortona of Taylor was promoted to the rank of Sergeant this May. He started his career with the Lackawanna County Prison in October 2006.
