The Lackawanna County Tax Assessment Office will now have a drop box at the front entrance to the Lackawanna County Government Center at 123 Wyoming Avenue

 Any and all documents can be placed in the drop box and will be processed as soon as possible.

The Assessor’s Office is responsible for evaluating the value of real estate throughout Lackawanna County. We recently created a database to display Lackawanna County’s assessment information online. Please click on the link below to access this information.


Exciting changes are happening at the Office of the Assessor with technology leading the way. New aerial photography and mapping systems will help accurately identify your property. The Office is dedicated to bringing fairness to the Lackawanna County tax system as well as updating systems in order to serve the public with the most up-to-date information and in the near future having all information available via the web.

Homestead and Farmstead Exclusions Application – The application for Homestead and Farmstead Exclusions is due between January 1 and March 1.  You can print-out the application and begin the planning process for next year.

Clean and Green Information Packet

Clean and Green Valuation Application –  Applications for the Clean & Green Program must be completed and submitted between March 1 and June 1.

The June 1 application deadline for property owners seeking preferential assessments under the Clean and Green Act has been extended to October 15, 2020 due to COVID-19

The Appeal Forms are now available to be completed and returned but due to the COVID – 19 crisis the hearings will not be immediately scheduled
