Lackawanna County Recognizes 4-H Week

The Lackawanna County Commissioners designated March 12-18 as Pennsylvania 4-H Week in Lackawanna County.  4-H is America’s largest youth development organization, serving six million youngsters nationwide.  Locally, the Penn State Extension administers the program in rural areas and small communities, covering subjects such as animal sciences, civic engagement, STEM, and health and wellness.

The core of the initiative is to provide opportunities for leadership development, problem solving, career exploration, volunteering and more.  Students from the Scranton School for the Deaf participated in the presentation.
