Happy Birthday U.S. Marine Corps

State and County officials and law enforcement personnel joined members of the Northeast Detachment of the Marine Corps League in raising the flag to celebrate the Corps 247^th birthday.  The Second Continental Congress issued a resolution on November 10, 1775, ordering two battalions of Marines to serve as landing forces along a fleet.  Hence, the birthday of “the few, the proud, The Marines.”
