Comprehensive Countywide ATV Study...Coming Soon!

Lackawanna County has recently engaged Michael Baker International to undertake a comprehensive Countywide ATV study. The focus of this project is to identify available land areas that may be most conducive to recreational motorized uses and then propose several ways in which the uses can be incorporated in those sectors.

We also want to explore the costs of developing motorized facilities and research potential funding opportunities.  All of the work will aid us in determining the positive economic impact for Lackawanna County.

The vision of this study is to identify and investigate all possible land areas that may be amenable to motorized uses in Lackawanna County; identify those specific areas that are most conducive to recreational motorized uses; propose several ways in which motorized uses can be incorporated in those areas; outline the costs of developing motorized facilities; thoroughly research potential funding opportunities and determine the positive economic impact.

This project is funded with a grant from the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR).
