COLTS to Observe 'Rider Appreciation Days'

For the first time, the County of Lackawanna Transit System will join other Pennsylvania mass transit agencies in honoring passengers during Rider Appreciation Days, from Monday, May 6, through Saturday May 11.

Beginning Monday and continuing throughout the week, COLTS will conduct a social media contest in which it will ask riders to post, share, like and comment on photos taken while riding COLTS buses. COLTS will draw participants’ names to win two-ride COLTS passes.

Tuesday, CHAMP, the RailRiders' mascot, will greet passengers at the downtown Transit Center on Lackawanna Avenue and join them for rides on buses traveling to Gerrity’s Supermarket in the Keyser Oak Shopping Center and the Viewmont Mall.

Wednesday is Free Fare Day for all riders, to reward regular passengers and introduce the service to new customers.

Watch the COLTS website, coltsbus.com; and the Lackawanna County website, Lackawannacounty.org, for updates and more Rider Appreciation Days events.
